Yes, as long as you have filled out a volunteer packet from the office and have a valid background check. Once you have been approved you can come as often as you like, as long as your child does not become affected by it. We also do not have volunteers in the classroom until September. This allows us to get our rules and routines down and have the kids comfortable with us.
How else can I help at school?
You can sign up as a class volunteer. We will also be looking for a Homeroom parent, or parents.
There will be a monthly calendar posted for days to volunteer in the classroom, starting in September.
Do I have to attend Parent Teacher Conferences?
Yes, at PEC we usually have 4 face to face Parent-Teacher Conferences a year. During that time we create an ILP, (individual learning plan), you have to attend and sign the form.
If we go on vacation during school time, does my child need to get work?
Yes, it is a grade on their report card. If you child is going to be absent please let me know, so I can provide the work they are missing.
Does my child need snacks or water bottles at school?
Yes! Your child needs to bring a water bottle filled only with water, no juice, each day. They also need a healthy snack for afternoon snack, teachers do not proved snacks. Please do not send in candy
or messy items for snack. Good suggestions are crackers, granola bars, an apple, grapes, cookies.
What are the school hours?
School begins by 8am. However students are allowed in as early as 7:40 am. Attendance is sent in by 8:05, so if you are running late you have to drop by the office and get a late pass. Exceptions are Early dismissal days, which will be marked on your monthly calendar.
What should my child bring each day?
A backpack, with their name clearly labeled on it, a lunch box, or lunch money, snack and a water bottle and their Take home folder. During cooler weather they should wear a jacket. Please write your child's name in the jacket, it makes it easier for us to identify the owner.
How can I contact Mrs. Hilton after hours?
Call me on my cell 928-231-4239 or e-mail me at : [email protected] at school at [email protected].
My only request is that you call no later than 9pm, unless it is an emergency. Weekends no earlier than 9am...thanks
How do I know how my child is doing on a daily basis?
Your child will be taking home a "Daily Take Home Folder". In their folder will be a behavior calendar. I will be using this calendar to communicate behavior to you each day. Green means great, yellow means had a warning, orange means had several reminders and had a time out, red means their behavior was severe and had a long time out or sent out of the room. (There will be a note or phone call for this behavior).
